The founding of the School in 1966 was made possible, in large part, by a generous contribution from the Wurzweiler Foundation for the purpose of providing Social Work education in individual, family, group, organizational, neighborhood and community social work. From its very beginning, the School aspired to combine the Jewish perspective and values with the values of the social work profession. Jewish values are integrated in the philosophy of Bar-Ilan University, in general, and in the educational approach of the School of Social Work, in particular.
