Continuing Education Unit
The Continuing Education Unit is designed to broaden the theoretical and applied knowledge of professionals, para-professionals and laymen in different fields of studies, and to provide them with tools and intervention methods in order to assist them in their profession. For this purpose the Unit has opened its doors to diverse populations, mainly social workers, and offers a wide range of programs and courses. From year to year the Unit grows and enriches its activities, as it keeps in close contact with field people.
Although many of the programs and courses are intended for social workers, quite a few are also intended for therapists in other fields such as psychology, education, art therapy, nursing, and other behavioral sciences. The Unit offers three-year, two-year, yearly and semestrial courses. All courses enable the participants to accumulate points for study funds and/or professional levels (as senior, advanced, and expert). In some of the courses the student could even accumulate credit points towards the Master's Degree. In addition, the Unit offers sponsorship to programs conducted off-campus, provides special programs to social welfare agencies on request, and offers all day conferences and workshops, as well as special lectures. All are designed to ensure a continuing high level of competency among Israel's social workers and other professionals.
